What's a media developer?

In December 2008 I quit my Fulltime job with Hallmark Cards to become a freelance media developer. It is difficult to explain that title as I have a broad range of skills from 3d animation right through to game programming. My main goal as a freelancer is to work on projects that not only harness today's advanced web technologies but also explore the art of entertainment, engagement and fun.

Chapter 1 - My Background

My background is very much a creative one. I have been obsessed with animation and drawing as far back as I can remember. Inspired by great animators; Peter Lord, Nick Park, Barry purves (the list is endless) I have tried my hand at everything from claymation to full 25 frames a second drawn animation right through to 3D computer animation.

Chapter 2 - My Experience

I have worked for Hallmark in a variety of roles since leaving university. I started out making animated eCards, games and interactive applications and then moved on to producing internal videos, designing cards, viral marketing, Facebook applications and building complex websites including all the front end and backend programming. Over the years in my spare time I have learnt several programming languages as well as building experimental game engines, chat applications, multiplayer games, social networking tools and much more.

Chapter 3 - Freelance

I am excited to see where this chapter in my life will lead. I hope to update many of my past projects and also work on some great new ones. Think you have project for me? Drop me a line
